Rafael Nadal has astounded the world with his performance this year. The Spaniard made things that seemed next to impossible, possible. He had a persisting foot injury, however; he did not let it hold him back.

Rafa dived head first into the championships and slams. And won two grand slam titles with the quest for a third going underway. Reilly Opelka also acknowledged that and made a comparison of Rafael Nadal with a hot-dog-eating champion.

Reilly Opelka makes an appreciative comparison with Nadal

American tennis player Reilly Opelka took to his Twitter to make the comparison of a tennis legend to a hot-dog-eating champion.

He stated, “Rafa French Open 2022 vibes. One foot and still gets it done, for the 15th time!” The champion has won the hot-dog-eating competition 14 times and is out there to defend his title for the 15th time.

Rafa, similarly, went on to win his 14th French Open title in 2022 despite getting bothered by his foot injury.

How is Rafael Nadal doing in 2022?

Rafael Nadal has had a great start to the year in 2022. He has continued his form into the second half of the year as well. The Spaniard won his 21st grand slam title at the Australian Open 2022.

He left his contemporary arch-rivals, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, behind at 20 grand slam titles. Rafa then went on to win the French Open too and again justified his title of being called the ‘King of Clay’.

Rafael Nadal took special treatment to get better and persist well in the grass-court season. The treatment has turned out successful and right now he is thriving well in the Wimbledon Championships 2022. The player is going to meet Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals of the grass-court major. Interestingly, Fritz defeated Rafael Nadal in the Indian Wells 2022.
