Serbian tennis star, Novak Djokovic, is one of the all-time best tennis layers. The 35-year-old understandably has a huge fan base. However, his quirky acts and straightforward statements have also earned him a lot of haters online. While Djokovic always stands to his comments and acts, his fans rally behind him for support. Back in 2017, Djokovic did something, which is hard to judge. The 21-time Grand Slam champion turned up to play wheelchair tennis with a wheelchair player. It was a noble gesture from the Serb in order to promote wheelchair tennis. However, in the middle of the match, he did something which divided the fans about it being right or wrong. Novak Djokovic was participating in a wheelchair match in Melbourne during the Australian Open 2017. In the middle of the match, Djokovic stood up from the chair and smashed the ball to score a point against his opponent.

After a string of negative comments, a Djokovic fan came forward to defend the Serb. “Of course, people are saying it’s disrespectful only because Djokovic did it. It’s not a serious event. It was funny,” he wrote.

The opponent Djokovic was facing is Dylan Alcott. He is a 15-time Grand Slam champion now. While the fans were busy calling out Djokovic for what he did in the match, Dylan was full of praise for the Serb.
Further, the Aussie claimed that nobody on the ATP tour does as much as Djokovic does to promote them. Recently, the 21-time Grand Slam champion played another wheelchair match after winning the title in Tel Aviv.
