Although the odds are stacked against him; he has the support of his girlfriend, who is sitting in the stands. She is familiarizing herself with the tennis circuit as she was seen talking to the world number 7, Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Borges has had a long journey to finally land at the current stage. The Portuguese star had also changed nations to ensure a great career. He is happy to be at his current stage and aims to improve even further.

He played Collegiate tennis for Mississippi State University from 2016 to 2019 and eventually turned pro in 2021. He would continue to improve steadily and now, he has created his best result in the ongoing Australian Open.

The Portuguese player beat 23rd seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and then Grigor Dimitrov, his first top 20 wins, to play in his first fourth-round match. He lost the first set but brought the fight to Medvedev without losing any hope. Facing the top 5 is a difficult task for anyone. However, Borges is giving it his all, and this is not the last we will see of him.
