Frances Tiafoe is high on confidence and flying high lately. The American star impressed at the recently concluded US Open, where he reached the semifinal. Additionally, he has had a consistent run of late, reaching the summit clash of the Cincinnati Masters. It can be seen from his body language that Tiafoe is enjoying some of the best moments of his career. This was evident from the fact that he had quite an interesting response when asked about what his pre-match ritual was.
During the US Open earlier this month, Tiafoe appeared in an interview with What’s Poppin, with the host Davis and fellow player Andrey Rublev by his side. In the interview which was posted by the ATP Tour’s official Instagram account earlier today, the American star was asked about his pre-match ritual. Replying with a smile on his face, Tiafoe mentioned, “I do, I mean, I definitely gotta take a number two before every match, and then I got to listen to the same song before every match.” Like every fan, Davis was curious to know which song Tiafoe listened to before the matches. The American star said, “Right now, it’s Kendrick – Not Like Us.”

Interestingly, those pre-match superstitions seemed to work for Tiafoe at the US Open, as he achieved one of the best results of his career. Moreover, he is a big fan of rap and is heavily inspired by Dr Dre. He once channeled his inner music buff, saying, “If you’re really trying to hear the heat in the headphones, man, you gotta put the Beats on. They’re tough. I like to rock out with the Beats when I’m walking onto the court or moving through the airport. When I’m warming up on the court, I use them to get in the zone. I like to listen to it all, but I’m usually listening to Lil Baby, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake. It depends on the vibe, where my headspace is at.”
