Isner, however, didn?t do well at the US Open this year. He faced an unfortunate injury in the second round of the tournament. The World number 8 took to his social media to share an update with his fans about his injury.?
John Isner on his wrist surgery
The 2018 semifinalist was in good form when he started off this season. Isner is still looking for his first grand slam victory and with his outstanding performance this year, his dream would have been possible. But the tennis star had a wrist injury coming his way.?

The most experienced player recently took to Instagram to share an update about his wrist surgery. Talking about getting his surgery done and having hardware inserted into his wrist.
He wrote, ?Didn?t have the best fortunes in New York and broke my wrist in my 1st rd @USOPEN win. I now have some new hardware that will be with me forever. It?s going to take a team to get me back out on the court in 2023 and I?m very appreciative of the care I?ve received from my team of medical experts.?

And also thanked the medical experts for taking good care of him. Sharing a humorous caption about carrying hardware for the rest of his life, he also posted a picture of the X-ray of his wrist, along with his family’s picture.
Frances Tiafoe replaces Isner for the Laver Cup
The 37-year-old is one of the most experienced active tennis stars. Isner has been around for over thirteen years now. The American star has played one of the longest matches ever in the history of tennis. However, due to his injury, he will not play in the upcoming Laver Cup. The US Open semi-finalist has replaced the tennis star taking his place in the team world for the Laver Cup.
