Roger Federer bid farewell to tennis with a heavy heart and unsurprisingly, his two arch-rivals, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, were there with the Swiss Maestro during the emotional moment. Over the past two decades, the ‘Big 3’ has changed the course of tennis and significantly contributed towards enhancing the popularity of the sport. Recently, Ivan Ljubicic, the Croatian tennis star, shared a picture of the three players standing together at the Laver Cup and captioned it as his favorite picture.

Novak Djokovic shared that on his Instagram story and agreed with the Croatian player. The ‘Big Three’ might have been each other’s greatest rivals, but their respect for the sport and each other surpasses their rivalry.

The Serbian tennis star has shared a long history of rivalry with both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. Djokovic has always hailed the two for their astounding contributions to the sport. So, when one of them retired this year, it brought tears to millions around the world. Ivan Ljubicic, the former world no.3, shared a picture of ‘the Big 3’ from the Laver Cup.

The three tennis players had adorned the blue jersey of Team Europe and were standing in a circle having an intense team discussion. Ljubicic captioned the picture, “My favorite photo of….. Tennis” and shared it on his Instagram story. The Serbian tennis star shared Ljubicic’s story on his Instagram story and stated, “One of my favorite as well.”

After the emotional farewell match of the Swiss Maestro, Djokovic expressed his desire to have a similar retirement where he could be around his family and his greatest rivals.

Novak Djokovic might have lost his top spot on the ATP ranking chart, but he is leaving no stone unturned to get his spot back. The current world no. 7 won the Tel Aviv Watergen Open and, following that, he also clinched victory at the Astana Open by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas. At the ATP finals, if he qualifies, he will look forward to equalizing his count of titles with that of his rival Roger Federer, who currently holds six ATP finals titles.
