In a recent revelation, emerging Japanese tennis sensation Shintaro Mochizuki credited Novak Djokovic for inspiring him to be a better player. Mochizuki highlighted the importance of nutrition in his approach while saying that he learned these lessons from Djokovic.
Like the Serbian star, Mochizuki has adopted a gluten-free and dairy-free diet. He also took note of his body’s needs while working relentlessly towards that. He admires Djokovic’s commitment to daily routines and fitness, recognizing that it’s not about secret rituals but consistent hard work.
“I’m trying to do as much as I can do. And you know, like, on a physical part. He’s not doing anything special. Like I said, yeah. But he just keeps doing that every day, every day. And discipline is the key, I would say, yeah. So it kind of gave me confidence because, you know, I was always thinking like, he’s doing like, his special things for like, his body and his tennis. But it’s not true. Like he’s just working a lot. And a lot of simple things. So that’s, that’s what I learned a lot. And I think discipline is the is the most important thing,” said Mochizuki in the Just Slap podcast while giving Novak Djokovic credit.
Thus, Shintaro Mochizuki, who is just another aspiring tennis star reflected on how Novak Djokovic helped him get some much-needed confidence to perform on the big stage. However, he is not the only one who takes inspiration from the greatest name in tennis. In a recent revelation, former junior world number 1 also spoke about how Djokovic inspired him.
