Time and again, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic showed that he has a heart of gold. In the past, we saw him doing plenty of nice things for the fans as well as fellow players.

Recently, Djokovic showed another great gesture to help a 19-year-old Serbian tennis player named Hamad Medjedovic. In an interview, the father of the young Serb, Eldin Medjedovic, opened up about Djokovic’s contribution, as he could not believe it at first. Moreover, Djokovic also made some comments about it, as he is happy about the young Serb’s growth on the tour.

Novak Djokovic shows noble gesture toward young Serbian player

Recently, the 19-year-old Serbian won his first challenger trophy in Ludenscheid, as he talked about receiving a congratulatory message from none other than Novak Djokovic. “Would you believe who was the first to congratulate me on my title–Novak (Djokovic). When I picked up my phone, I saw his voice message lasting more than one minute. He is a legend because he is always available for advice,” Medjedovic said

Later, Medjedovic’s father, Eldin, talked in detail about the conversation he had with Djokovic regarding his son’s development in tennis. Novak told me: ‘Edo, I am not doing this for the money! I make my money elsewhere, my role here is to help. What kind of man would I be if I would not help the kinds that deserve it, that love tennis and–on top of that–achieve good results?'” Medjedovic’s father said.

Eldin also revealed that Djokovic called his son for doing pre-season with him. Moreover, he praised the Serb’s human side, as he said, “Thank God, there are still people who don’t care only about money, but about the human side of things.

Meanwhile, Djokovic also commented on Medjedovic’s first challenger trophy win, when he was playing at Wimbledon earlier this month. “It was phenomenal–winning his first Challenger title coming from qualies is a huge result and I congratulated him… He deserved this success with the work he has been putting in during the last year and a half,” the Serb said.

Djokovic might miss the US Open 2022

After winning the Wimbledon Championships recently, Djokovic had to face bad news regarding his participation at the US Open this year. According to the rules of the US government, unvaccinated travelers can not get entry into the country. Earlier, he decided to not take the vaccine, as he faced deportation from Australia earlier this year.
