After his 23 Grand Slam win at the French Open, fans are eagerly waiting for the Wimbledon wonders of Novak Djokovic in England. The Serbian legend didn’t participate in the Madrid Open due to his elbow condition. His movements were relatively slow in the Italian Open as he struggled with his fitness. But before that, he will participate in Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic. The top 10 ATP players will participate in the tournament along with the World No.1. Djokovic already has 7 Wimbledon wins. He is aiming for his eighth to equal the record of Roger Federer. He has won the past four Wimbledons consecutively in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022. If he wins the Wimbledon for the fifth time in a row, he will be the third player after Federer and Bjorn Borg to do so. Also, he will have a chance to win a grand slam title for a record 24th time. But the most essential question is how far he is from settling the GOAT debate forever.
Will this Wimbledon settle the GOAT debate once for all?
The GOAT debate in tennis is as difficult to solve as the GOAT debate in other sports. There are opinions and there are statistics and there are emotions. Though statistics currently are in favour of Djokovic with 23 grand slams with ten in Australia. Rafael Nadal has 22 grand slams with 14 in France. And Roger Federer has 20 grand slams with 8 in Wimbledon. But everyone has their own parameters to evaluate their favorites.

The latest to join the GOAT debate in tennis is the former coach of Roger Federer, Ivan Ljubicic. He said that the GOAT debate is subjective. But also admitted that if Djokovic wins a few more grand slams, the GOAT debate will settle forever. He said, “If Novak wins a few more Slams–-which seems likely at this point–-then the debate becomes meaningless. If Novak ends up having five to ten more than the others, we won’t have conversations like this anymore,.”
Though he admitted that as long as Rafael Nadal is playing, things may change. However, Djokovic sitting on the swing chair seems to be planning to upset all of that.
