Edoardo Artaldi has served as an agent and chief of staff for Novak Djokovic since his first Grand Slam triumph in 2008. However, as he “entered a new chapter about the off-court approach,” the Serbian tennis player previously announced his split from his long-time agent.
During his participation in the 2023 Paris Masters, the ‘Djoker’ confirmed that Artaldi, who had been working with him for more than 15 years, had left his team. Now that he is in the transitional phase of his off-court endeavors, the 24-time singles Grand Slam champion has finally made some big changes to his team at the Australian Open.

Having won three Grand Slam titles and been the absolute dominator of the sport in the 2023 season, the Serb felt that he needed to make a few changes to his team. Novak Djokovic took the first step when he parted ways with his long-time agents, Edoardo Artaldi and Elena Cappellaro. Since then, there has been speculation about Nole joining hands with his good friend, Charly Gómez-Herrera, who has now officially joined his team.
In a press conference at the Australian Open, Djokovic confirmed all those rumors, “Yes, Charly is now the team manager. He is still part of the technical team as an assistant coach, but his new role is from now on his main job. He is doing an excellent job even though he does not have much experience.”

The 36-year-old went on to lavish praise on Gómez-Herrera by calling him an “extremely delicate person” who has already made great strides. As he is a “very good friend” of the Serb, Djokovic asserted that Charly is someone whom he can fully trust and lean on. Apart from Gómez-Herrera, the current number 1 player introduced another addition to his team.
“Right behind you guys is sitting Electra, another person who is now part of our brand team,” Djokovic said in the same press conference. While Charly will be his new team manager and assistant coach, Electra will be a part of the 24-time singles Grand Slam champion’s brand-new team.
