World No.1 Novak Djokovic made an incredible comeback in the fourth round of the French Open 2021. Facing 19-year-old Lorenzo Musetti, Djokovic lost the first two sets in two successive tie-breakers. However, he gave the Italian player absolutely no chance in the remaining three sets and ultimately won the match. The final scoreline of the match was 6(7)-7(9), 6(2)-7(7), 6-1, 6-0, 4-0.
With the win over Musetti, Djokovic has established a record at the Grand Slams. He has now won the most number of five-set matches at the Majors. Interestingly, he’s surpassed Roger Federer to achieve the feat.

Djokovic was tied with Federer with 30 wins in the five-setters before this match at Roland Garros 2021. However, after his triumph against Musetti, he has now won 31 encounters where the match has gone to the fifth set.
Apart from Federer and Djokovic, the list also includes the likes of Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Ivan Lendl, and Stan Wawrinka. Even though it is really tough to win a match after it enters the fifth set, all these iconic players have done the same on more than 20 occasions.

Novak Djokovic won 13 games in a row against Lorenzo Musetti at the French Open 2021

It was surely a tough moment for Djokovic once he was two sets down against Musetti. However, he fought back like a warrior and completely turned the tables around in the finals three sets.
In the 17 games across the last three sets, Musetti could only win one. Djokovic won 13 games in a row and broke on seven occasions. Interestingly, he only lost four points in the fourth set of the match and as a result, bagel’d the 19-year-old in that set.

After this, Nole will face Matteo Berrettini in the quarters of the French Open 2021. Even though Berrettini is in some superb form, it’ll be definitely be challenging for him to face the World No.1 player.
