Novak Djokovic recently lifted the Rolex Paris Masters 2021 title after defeating Daniil Medvedev. It has been a great season for the Serbian legend and thus, he would like to end it on a high note at the ATP Finals 2021.

Novak Djokovic discloses the actual reason for not succeeding at the ATP Finals since 2015
Djokovic has won the ATP Finals title five times in his career so far. Intriguingly, he won it four consecutive times during the period of 2012-2015. However, since then, he has failed to lift the title and explained the reason for the same in the pre-tournament press conference.
"It could be just the amount of energy that you spend during the season that you maybe don't have enough left in the tank for that final push."

“Since 2015, I did not win the title, played one finals, and couple of semi-finals. It could be just the amount of energy that you spend during the season that you maybe don’t have enough left in the tank for that final push,” said Djokovic in the press conference.
Djokovic believes that maybe, his energy drains out by the end of the year after playing so much professional tennis. Thus, he feels that despite playing some semi-finals and even a final at the ATP Finals in the last five years, he has not been successful there.

Djokovic will begin his ATP Finals 2021 campaign against Casper Ruud

Djokovic will kick off his ATP Finals 2021 campaign against Casper Ruud tomorrow. The Norwegian player has played some brilliant tennis this season and can pose to be a challenge for the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
Head-to-Head, Djokovic leads the battle 1-0 right now. He defeated Ruud in straight sets in their only encounter at the Italian Open 2020.
