Top players in the ATP ranking and running like Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and even Rafael Nadal after his comeback, are eligible for a $21 million bonus pool. However, there are some rules that these players have to abide by if they want to make it to this pool and win an amount. In recent times, the rule book for this pool has seen some changes.
The ATP players will have to abide by all these changes if they want to get any of the benefits of the pool including the prize money. A post on social media shared these changes including the platinum and the standard benefits the players will get if they comply with the rules.

Some new rules have been added to the rulebook for 2024 for the ATP players to be eligible for the $21M Bonus Pool. These new guidelines are primarily for the players who want to avail the platinum benefits. Not only that but these new guidelines will also discourage the players from being a part of or joining any rival organization or associations.

To be eligible for the $21M bonus pool, players will have to meet the new Platinum Benefits requirements designed to discourage them from joining rival organizations/associations and (applicable for Top 100 players) rival tournaments. pic.twitter.com/9kRrP7cIY7— Oleg S. This only applies to the top 100 players as per the ATP rankings and the guidelines will be effective from January 1, 2024. Even the tournaments that fall under the ATP Tour, like UTS and World Tennis League, can also be counted as Qualified Non-covered Events, and players who participate in them can still be eligible, but there are a few conditions.

In fact, there are also speculations on PTPA, which is Novak Djokovic’s organization, can be considered a rival organization as well.
Novak Djokovic’s PTPA is speculated to be considered a rival organization by ATP’s new rulebook
In the series of posts that were made around the new rule book, one of the pages that posts tennis news also posted about how PTPA or Professional Tennis Players Association, which is owned and run by Novak Djokovic, might also be considered an entity that is not in the best interests of the ATP tour and players.

If that is the case, then Novak Djokovic might become ineligible for the bonus pool and he might not be given any participation in it. He would either have to leave PTPA, which does not seem likely, or we would have to accept the fact that he cannot get any participation in the pool. As of now, this is just a speculation, and more clarity is sought in the matter.
