World No.2 Daniil Medvedev emerged as the winner of the US Open 2021. The Russian defeated the 20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets and won his maiden major title. The final scoreline of the match was 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

Even though Novak Djokovic tried his level best, he couldn’t outperform Daniil Medvedev. The World No.2 player served almost perfectly and never really gave the Serbian legend any chance to bounce back.

Recently, there is some shocking news coming for Djokovic. He has been fined $5000 for unsportsmanlike conduct on the court during the US Open 2021 finals.

There was an incident during the second set of the match when Djokovic was about to hit a ball kid with his racquet. Even though he managed to control himself when he saw the kid approaching towards himself, his actions scared the ball kid who was running to fetch the ball. Keeping this in mind, the US Open management imposed a penalty on the World No.1 player.

Novak Djokovic fails to create history at US Open 2021

Djokovic was on the verge of creating history at the US Open 2021 as he was chasing his Calendar Slam. If he succeeded, he would have become the first tennis player to win all the four majors in a single year in the 21st century. However, that didn’t take place.

Medvedev came out of the syllabus for Nole and stunned him completely. With his win, he also ended Djoker’s 27-match winning streak at Grand Slams this year.
