World no.1 Novak Djokovic, who enjoyed a phenomenal run this year on the ATP tour that saw him lift three major titles and also the finals at the US Open, had arrived in Paris to play the final Masters 1000 event of the year.
The Serb has been on practice courts with the likes of players like Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov as he prepares himself to be competitive once again. Post Paris Masters, Djokovic will play the World Tour Finals in Turin and even announced his decision to play the Davis Cup Finals for Serbia.

Novak Djokovic talks about Australian Open participation ahead of Paris Masters 2021
Ahead of the tournament, the Serbian star talked to press about learning from his US Open final defeat and details over the Australian Open next year. Djokovic is yet to confirm his participation and revealed that he will decide on Melbourne once there is an official update.
“I’m going to decide whether I go after I see the official announcement from Tennis Australia. Until then, I won’t comment anymore on that”, affirmed the Serb.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion enjoys an incredible record at the Australian Open, where he won nine times. The courts in Melbourne also suit Djokovic’s playing style as he defeated every single one of the top players in the ATP rooster currently.
It was Dominic Thiem who questioned the Serb last year in the finals in Melbourne. But, known for bouncing back to victory out of nowhere, Djokovic rose to the occasion and defeated Thiem to win his eighth Australian Open crown.

Djokovic has an incredible record in Melbourne over the years
Coming to the finals this year, Djokovic faced the in-form Daniil Medvedev. After putting up a tough fight in the opening set and losing the same, the Russian lost his way as his opponent steered through games comfortably to win his 18th grand slam title.

While Medvedev went on to defeat the Serb later at the US Open, the duo made sure that they have an incredible rivalry to offer fans in the coming years as every battle of theirs had a tinge of drama associated with it.
Both Medvedev and Djokovic will be battling against each other for the year-end no.1 ranking, with the Serb clearly in the lead. For the Russian to overtake Djokovic, it will have to start with him defend the Paris Masters title.
