Carlos Alcaraz has stolen reigning champ Novak Djokovic‘s French Open crown! While the Serb finally started to show positive signs of gaining momentum in a title-less year, his run was interrupted because of an unexpected setback. He was forced to retire because of a knee injury that he incurred just before the quarter-final showdown against Casper Rudd. While concerns about his return to the grass-court major were raised, a recent update from the assigned doctor revealed a shocking reality.

While Novak Djokovic’s French Open dreams were wasted straight ahead, it seems like his Wimbledon participation would suffer too. According to the doctor who performed the Serb’s knee injury, it is going to take longer than what the fans were expecting.

The upcoming Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon is set to begin just three weeks from now. The doctor’s opinion has made it clear that he won’t be in 100%, as the surgery takes a longer time to recover. All of this happened because of the fact that the terrible injury hindered a sensitive area in his body. Back when everyone was curious to know what actually happened, a renowned journalist revealed, “Novak Djokovic’s MRI revealed that he tore his medial meniscus in his right knee.”

This update not only covered his Wimbledon participation in dark clouds but also reduced the chances of matching Roger Federer’s glory. The Swiss tennis maestro retired with eight Wimbledon titles in his name. Djokovic, who currently stands with 7, had a golden opportunity to make it, but it seems like this is going to be really tough for him amid the recovery phase. As his rivals prepare for the grass-court event, his opinion on the situation is yet to be noted.

Meanwhile, the Serb was glued to the television watching Alcaraz vs. Zverev in the final!

Novak Djokovic’s run to defend his Roland Garros title seemed to be quite dominant. While the Serb showed true levels of determination in his late-night showdown against Lorenzo Musetti, everyone believed that had a chance to make it this time and finally mark an end to the title drought this season. While fate had something else planned for him this time, all he could do was sit back and watch Carlos Alcaraz snap away his trophy.

While each update from him is eagerly awaited by the fans, this one gave signs of an emotional moment where the legendary player had to sit back at home while the youngsters tussle for the grand slam title.
