Novak Djokovic‘s recovery status is currently the most discussed matter of intrigue. The Serb incurred a brutal meniscus tear during his fourth-round showdown against Francisco Cerundolo at Roland Garros. While the injury hindered his run for the French Open title, it also seems to have covered his Wimbledon participation with dark clouds. For those waiting for a positive sign, former pro Greg Rusedski has bad news.

In a recent episode of the Tennis Channel’s Inside In podcast, the former British-Canadian player offered his perspective on Novak Djokovic’s current status. “I think it’s gonna be really difficult for Novak to make it with that meniscus tear,” he said, strictly denying any chances of the Serb’s comeback in Wimbledon.

It is best to seek an opinion from someone who has traveled down the same road. Drawing a comparison from his own days of undergoing treatment for a meniscus tear, Rusedski added, “Because I had surgery myself. I am 50 and I am three and a half months down the road back to normal. and I had one in my 20s and that took about six weeks to be a hundred and ten percent.”

The former world no.4’s statement became a reason for disappointment for thousands of Djokovic fans out there. The Serb recently underwent surgery for the issue in his knee and is hoping to be back as soon as it is all healed. The doctor who played a major part in his injury, clearly advised him to take rest for a period that straightaway denied his participation in the grass-court major.

The Wimbledon is scheduled to begin in just two weeks from now. While there’s no positive sign of the Serb’s speedy recovery, former pros and analysts are even afraid of his overall presence on tour.

Renowned commentator predicts a horrible fate for Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic is currently going through a recovery phase. While he was recently exposed to an injury for his meniscus tear, it is assumed that he needs more rest to be at 100%. At least a month’s delay is expected for Nole to step back and unleash the same levels of dominance on the scene. But former pro and commentator Paolo Bertolucci sees it as a bigger danger.

“The signs are not good at all, the level of play is not that of a year, a year and a half ago,” he said in a recent interview. Continuing his statement of doubting the Serb’s levels, he added, “In other words, he is towards the end of his career and can find the set, the points, the game, the moment to phenomenon that he is. But he cannot be the hammer he was years ago.”

Novak Djokovic’s future in the sport currently appears to be in a doubtful situation. While he is spending time with his family and under the best medical care, it still remains to be seen if he will be able to bounce back from the mud.
