Swiss maestro Roger Federer was the one with all the records until Novak Djokovic came into the picture. The Serbian World No.1 has taken over the 40-year-old in another record after his semi-final win at the US Open. Nole now has the most wins over Top 10 players on the Tour. Previously, both the arch-rivals were level at 224, but after Djokovic’s win over Alexander Zverev, the 34-year-old has officially claimed the record.
Consequently, the Belgradian reached the US Open 2021 final for the ninth time. Besides, he also became the first player all-time to collect nine finals in two different Grand Slams (Australian Open, US Open).

Djokovic, however, has eyes set on much bigger records as the Serb chases history in the American Gran Slam final.
Djokovic overtakes Federer in number of wins against Top 10 players
One of the most intriguing similarities between Djokovic and Federer is that they have been the most consistent players against the best players in the world. And that is the reason why they have acclaimed all the records.
Now, Djokovic is the player with the most wins against Top 10 players in tennis at 225. Federer will not get a chance to improve his 224 for a while as he called his 2021 season off due to knee surgery.

Also, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are on the list, but it is unlikely for them to match this record. While the Spaniard has 178 wins so far, the Scot has 101.
Hence, the Serbian ace will rule over this accomplishment for quite a while.

For over 50 years of tennis, no men’s player has won all four Grand Slam tournaments in one year. Notably, the last person to do so was Rod Laver in 1969, who also saw Djokovic win the semifinals from the stands. Indeed, the Serbian ace can make the same feat winning the US Open 2021 title.
Other than that, Djokovic – Nadal – Federer each have 20 Grand Slam titles. Accordingly, the 34-year-old can finally get a lead in the “Big 3” race. These are the two significant records the Serbian ace will eye coming into the final against Daniil Medvedev.
