The tale of Novak Djokovic arriving in Australia has been discussed and debated widely across several media platforms over the past few weeks and still no proper conclusion has been reached. While Djokovic is yet to announce any details of his journey to Australia, recent reports suggested that the World No.1 will not play the ATP Cup.

Novak Djokovic is still in the ATP Cup, says Tennis Australia spokesperson

While this announcement made fans believe that Djokovic might skip the Australian tennis summer, Tennis Australia has now confirmed that there were ‘no withdrawals’ from team Serbia.

Per initial ATP schedule, Serbia plays team Norway in their first contest as Novak is scheduled to face youngster Casper Ruud.

No withdrawals from Team Serbia“, confirmed a tennis Australia spokesperson. There is clearly a lot of speculations going around Djokovic at the moment and with each passing day, the scenario is taking a new turn.

While Tennis Australia didn’t confirm when Novak will arrive in Sydney, they also stressed on the fact the Serbian hasn’t withdrawn his name from either the ATP Cup or the Australian Open.

CEO of tennis Australia Craig Tiley also revealed recently that few players would be granted medical exemptions.

If Novak shows up at the Australian Open, he’ll either be vaccinated or he’ll have a medical exemption. His choice on his medical condition, it’s his choice to keep personal and private, like all of us would do, with any condition we may or may not have. We are not going to force him or ask him to disclose that.”

With only a few days to go ahead of the ATP Cup, Djokovic can make it simple for his fans and everyone else involved by announcing his decision concerning his journey to Australia and put an end to this speculation saga.
