Novak Djokovic assured his place as the year-end number 1 after he won his first-round bout. However, he could not go into the semifinal only through his efforts. He met Sinner in the second round and found himself beaten after three sets. He made up for it in his third-round victory. However, he dropped one set, which meant he had to rely on Sinner to move ahead. With Sinner’s win against Holger Rune, the Djoker managed to move on.

A recent post on the r/tennis subreddit turned him into one of the Carota Boys, the dedicated fan base of Sinner. The user shared a selfie of Sinner with four of the Carota Boys. However, the face of the two boys on the front was cropped, and they had become Djokovic and his coach Goran Ivanišević. If Rune had won his bout, he and Sinner would be advancing.

They are Francesco Gaboardi, Alessandro Dedominici, Alberto Mondino, Lorenzo Ferrato, and Gianluca Bertorello, and Enrico. They call themselves the ‘Carrot Boys’ because of Sinner’s hair color and to pay ode to the time he ate a carrot mid-match.
