Novak Djokovic is one of the current big three. He was denied participation at the Australian Open and subsequent tournaments due to the Covid-19 regulations. Owing to this, there were speculations regarding his participation at French Open. However, the recent alterations in covid related restrictions by the French government opened a new windown for the Serbian tennis ace to make a comeback.

Some Good News for Djokovic Fans

The French government has removed the mandatory vaccination regulation for traveling to France. Hence, opening window for Djokovic to participate in French Open and begin his season.

The French Open tournament director Amelie Mauresmo earlier addressed the questions regarding Novak’s position in the upcoming tournament and said, “As things stand, nothing stands in the way of Djokovic taking part in the French Open.” Thereby, giving a chance to the 20 times Grand Slam champion of defending his title on the clay courts of France.

Now that Novak has a clean chit for French Open, he can keep up his scores against Rafael Nadal, who claimed his 21st major at Australian open. Further, he also can add points to his current total to make the No.1  even less approachable for other players

The 34-year-old Serbian lost a long legal battle and had to leave Melbourn because of mandatory vaccine rules. He couldn’t defend his title at Australian Open. His dismissal from the same received mixed reactions from people. However, Novak decided not to bend his rules for anyone. He later confessed, “the principles of decision making on my body are more important than any title or anything else. I’m trying to be in tune with my body as much as I possibly can.”

Following the Australian Open withdrawal, Novak Djokovic made a quick comeback in the Dubai tennis championship. He had a run-up till the quarterfinals in the hard courts of Dubai. However, owing to similar issues as in Australia, he had to keep his distance from the sunshine double as well.
