Novak Djokovic is all in for the French Open 2022. After losing out on being on the court, the Serbian player is not ready to take any chances and is on top of his form. He defeated the Japanese player in the first round and will now face Alex Molcan under the aegis of his previous coach, Marian Vajda. The player expressed his view on seeing his ex-coach in the opponent’s box.

Novak Djokovic is apprehensive about facing ex-coach
Novak Djokovic opened up about seeing Marian Vajda, his former long-term coach in the opposing box. He stated, “Molcan for me is an opponent just like any other, but I’ve never had Marian in the opposing box. To be honest, I am not looking forward to it.” Alex Molcan will meet top-seeded player, Novak Djokovic in the second round of the French Open. This will happen only if Alex Molcan wins his opening match.

Marian Vajda was Novak Djokovic’s coach for 15 long years. They had initially parted ways in 2017 before uniting in 2018 again. However, they ended their partnership once again in December 2021, which was made public in March 2022. He is currently a head coach of the Slovakian tennis player Alex Molcan. The Serbian player elaborated his apprehension. He stated, “I’ve written to Marian a few days ago. We have seen each other here as well. When I looked at the draw, it wasn’t easy, I must admit.”

Novak Djokovic did not have a great start to the year with him getting deported from Australia. Consequently, he missed a chance to play for the grand slam title. He could not clinch a title, he ended his drought by winning the Italian Open.

The Serbian player has cruised through the first round and might end up facing Alex Molcan in the second round. The former coach of Novak Djokovic, Marian Vajda, is currently coaching the world no. 38. Right now, Goran Ivanisevic is coaching Novak Djokovic.
