Novak Djokovic did not have a great start to the year. Former Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, stated whosoever wanted to enter the country, should do adhering to the conditions of being vaccinated.

As we are all aware, Australian authorities banned Djokovic from playing at the Australian Open because of his vaccination status. After that, Kanye West, who recently changed his name to Ye, was also prohibited from entering the country.
Australian former PM stopped Kanye West after banning Novak Djokovic
The former PM, Scott Morrison strictly made his stance clear. After all the debate around tennis legend, Novak Djokovic, who eventually was not allowed to play at the Australian Open, musical artist Kanye West came under scrutiny. Addressing the issue, the former PM said, “If he wants to tour here he must prove that he is fully vaccinated against COVID.”

Furthermore, he asserted his point by saying, “The rules apply to everyone, no matter who you are. If you follow them you can enter Australia, otherwise no.” Novak Djokovic got banned from playing at the Australian Open because of his vaccination status.

Furthermore, he lost the chance to compete for his 21st grand slam title at the hard-court major. Though he eventually won one at Wimbledon, this made him lose a valuable chance to get more.
Novak Djokovic’s run in 2022
Another problem arose when he could not play at the US Open too. The player could not play at both the hard-court majors in 2022. However, that has not dampened his spirit as he continues to take part in various ATP tours to reserve a place at the ATP finals in Turin. The player is in Kazakhstan to clinch his 90th ATP title. World no. 7 will face Russian player Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals of the Astana Open.

Despite all the ups and downs of 2022, Djokovic has kept his gameplay strong. He lost his top rank because the WTA and ATP stripped Wimbledon off of its ranking points. However, the Serbian player is gradually making his way to the top once again.
