Nick Kyrgios keeps it rolling! The Aussie is a constant Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek critic! Just yesterday, while expressing his excitement about making a comeback after two years, he took an indirect dig at these two tennis stars: “Feels good getting these consecutive days training in the bank man…. Wrist re-construction and back out here… blessed………………Without failing any drug tests 🙂‍↕️🙏🏽 be proud kygs doing it the right way 😩😂.” Today, while addressing a fan on X, he was yet used his voice in Kyrgios style.!

Reflecting the thoughts on the above tweet from Nick, a fan commented, “I remember this one journalist mentioning that Kyrgios doesn’t work hard on purpose cuz its his cope for being unsuccessful. It gives him & other lazy asses the excuse that ‘if only we were motivated, we’d beat them all.’ Now he has a new cope. He is a loser cuz he doesn’t dope.” Nick Kyrgios had the response ready!

He wrote, “I have an 8 figure career. Grand slam finalist and beaten all of the greatest of all time. Doesn’t seem bad to me. No drugs either.” Perhaps Jannik Sinner was his target this time!

For those who are unaware, here is a fact check of Nick Kyrgios’ claim:

  • Has career prize money of $12,486,696, per ESPN.
  • Has reached the final of the Wimbledon Championships in 2022.
  • Has beaten Roger Federer once in his career at the 2015 Madrid Open R32.
  • Has won three matches against Rafael Nadal, at 2014 Wimbledon R16, 2017 Cincinnati Masters QFs, 2019 Acapulco International R16
  • Has a 2-1 edge over the Serb, Novak Djokovic in the H2H.

Well, if we take a look at some of his previous comments on the doping controversies when Jannik Sinner‘s ruling came out, he said, “Ridiculous – whether it was accidental or planned. You get tested twice with a banned substance (steroid)…you should be gone for two years.” After that, when Iga Swiatek claimed that she didn’t understand how the trimetazidine substance had entered her body initially, Kyrgios said, “The excuse that we can all use is that we didn’t know. Simply didn’t know. Professionals at the highest level of sport can now just say ‘we didn’t know.”

He even claimed that “OUR SPORT IS COOKED.” We saw quite a few from the tennis world who didn’t look too pleased with his comments on this doping controversy. However, his verbal battle with the American tennis legend on the same was perhaps the most eye-catching!

Nick Kyrgios slams Andy Roddick for defending Iga Swiatek

Previously we saw Andy Roddick giving out his reaction to Nick Kyrgios’ controversial claims on the racquet sport. He said, “Some of you are gonna be like, you test positive your lifetime ban. Yevgeny Kafelnikov said, ‘lifetime ban. Lifetime ban for melatonin’. Sounds right. Yeah. Someone else going, ‘our sport is cooked.” He added that, “Our sport’s pretty f—g great. Pretty great. I have a lot more respect for our sport than to close the door on someone taking a melatonin and throwing my iron.”

After that, we even saw Mark Petchey calling out to Nick Kyrgios saying, he “needs to give it a rest.” However, did the Aussie stop there, though? Well, just a few days ago, Andy Roddick shared an opinion saying it was just an “unfortunate” incident for Iga Swiatek. He questioned, “Do we need to test for one 1 billionth of a gram or something? What is the level where it enhances performance? If it’s not one 1 billionth of a gram as everyone has said what is it? Maybe that’s where we should move the testing levels to as soon as it starts enhancing performance.”

He believes testing should be done for things that enhance performance and then after hearing this, Kyrgios came up with a comment. In that comment, he wrote, “Why didn’t she take the melatonin provided by the WTA? Here we go again about the amount – if I drink alcohol and then get tested in the later stages it would be nearly out of my system as well? Does that change the fact that I took it or not? They aren’t testing for the amount lol they are testing for the drug. Oh, the kicker is that alcohol isn’t performing enhancing.”

After seeing Roddick’s constant support to Sinner and Swiatek, a few days ago a fan shared a comment on X in which the fan was seen wondering if Andy Roddick himself had consumed prohibited substances during his playing days. Surprisingly, even there, Nick Kyrgios popped up with a comment saying. “Hahaha most likely.” Share your thoughts on the ongoing battle between Nick Kyrgios and Andy Roddick on the doping controversy.
