In front of a buzzing home crowd, the 22-year-old breezed past his Greek opponent  Stefanos Tsitsipas in the opening match, 6-4, 6-4. Later, the current world No. 4 also pulled off an upset against the defending champion, Novak Djokovic, as he has now secured a spot in the semifinals.

Holger Rune, on the other hand, didn’t have a great start to the ATP Finals as he failed to prevail in his challenging task of squaring off against the ‘Djoker’. Later, in the second group stage match, the young Danish tennis star was awarded a walkover win as his sixth-seed opponent, Tsitsipas, was struggling with a back injury.
