Nick Kyrgios, the fiery Australian tennis player, recently posted an exciting story on Instagram. The post was about his epic match against Roger Federer at the Miami Open in 2017. The match went down as one of the greatest matches in the career of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships finalist.

It was an electrifying display of superb tennis from two players with extremely different styles and personalities. Kyrgios blasted serves of 130 mph over and over again. He had used his power to get himself out of trouble against the crafty  Swiss veteran.

In their 2017 encounter in Miami, Roger Federer outlasted the Aussie in a three-set epic. The match ended with a 7-6(9), 6-7(9), 7-6(5) victory for the Swiss Maestro. The sellout crowd  had showered Federer with love all night. However they had booed Kyrgios loudly every time he threw a tantrum on the court. Kyrgios posted an Instagram story with the caption, “Anyone who thinks tennis is easy 😂. Good luck. Match went for 3 and a half hours.”

Kyrgios’ frustration boiled over at the end of the match. He had slammed his racket at the net. It was a disappointing end to a thrilling match and one that Kyrgios remembers even today. The Instagram post is a reminder of just how grueling and challenging tennis can be.
