Nick Kyrgios had a stellar season in 2022, where he reached the finals of Wimbledon and QFs of the US Open. He even won a doubles title at the 2022 AO. But 2023 has been the year that Nick Kyrgios would like to forget quickly. He had played only one ATP Tour match throughout the year and missed all four majors due to injuries. He had suffered from wrist, foot, and knee injuries throughout the season and now he’s set to miss the Grand Slam on his home soil. However, he had assured his fans he’d be part of the commentary team for the AO. 

The 28-year-old Aussie has been one of the most fined players in the history of the sport. He has featured himself in some of the epic displays of ranting and trash-talking at the umpires and even his opponents. Kyrgios has stirred controversies while smashing rackets and even demanding beer on the court. He has faced consequences for his actions several times but his manager, Daniel Mark Horsfall has always been one of his closest pillars of support. Horsfall is not only a manager but a close friend of Nick Kyrgios. Both of them first met at the schoolyard basketball court during their junior days in Canberra at Daramalan College. ‘Horse’ was never a big fan of tennis and he initially knew Kyrgios as a basketball player.

Horsfall is a die-hard Miami Heat fan while Kyrgios supports the Boston Celtics, so both bonded over basketball. Eventually, Daniel took the managerial role in Kyrgios’ team in June 2022 and since then he has been one of the two biggest support systems for the Aussie icon. But who’s the other one?

Nick Kyrgios first met Costeen Hatzi in 2021 and the couple then went on to announce their relationship officially on January 2, 2022. Kyrgios had earlier revealed how Hatzi played a pivotal role in her life while supporting him through his hardships. He believes meeting her was probably one of the best things that has ever happened in his life.
