Ever since he withdrew from the United Cup in January, fans have not seen Kyrgios playing in his capacity as a professional. He played one exhibition bout before the Australian Open against Djokovic, but he has been absent ever since. While we will have to wait a little longer to see him return to the court, we will see the Aussie player provide his skills to commentate on the ATP Finals.

The news went viral not long ago. “Nick Kyrgios is joining Tennis Channel as an analyst during its coverage of the ATP Finals November 12-19. That should be a lot of fun!

A post of Jon Wertheim’s, a prominent journalist, tweet was shared by Kyrgios on his Instagram story. “Nick Kyrgios (@NickKyrgios), whose electric style of play and straight-to-the-point conversational approach have endeared him to millions of fans around the world, is joining Tennis Channel as an analyst during its coverage of the ATP Finals November 12-19.”

Kyrgios to commentate once again as Djokovic and Alcaraz vie for number 1

The first time Kyrgios found himself in the commentary booth was four years ago, in 2019. After he was eliminated from the first Slam of the year in both singles and doubles, he decided to cover the remainder of the tournament. His work was enjoyed by many, and we will see him in the commentary booth again. He will provide coverage for the thrilling championship as Alcaraz attempts to become No. 1 again.

However, the chances of Alcaraz returning to the top are rather small. The only circumstance where he becomes number 1 is if he wins the tournament undefeated and Djokovic loses all of his bouts, which will give the Spaniard a lead of 10 points over the Serb. The chance is there, but it depends on the abilities of the top-form and in-luck Novak Djokovic as well; given his present momentum, the chances of him losing all his bouts are minute, if existent.
