Nick Kyrgios recently touched the peak of his professional tennis career. After putting in so many years, the Australian tennis ace finally made up to his first ever Grand Slam finals.

Kyrgios, after defeating high-caliber players such as world no.4 Stefanos Tsitsipas in London, booked an encounter with Novak Djokovic. However, in the finals, he failed to break the 21 times Grand Slam champion’s streak. Though he learned some important lessons from the clash.
Nick Kyrgios about Wimbledon finals defeat
Kyrgios recently initiated a Q and A session on his Instagram handle and answered a bunch of fan queries. Out of those, one of the most interesting questions was regarding his Wimbledon championships finals. A fan asked him to disclose the lessons he learned from the face-off with the seven times Wimbledon champion. To which he replied, “Honestly, I feel as if my first Grand Slam final was impressive. Next time I would try ride the emotion wave a little smoother.”
Thereafter, he added, “But I realize how much was on the line. I feel if I was up against anyone else but Djokovic in the final with the way I served, I would of won.”
The Aussie, following his triumph in the first set, crumbled in the last round of the Grand Slam of grass. As Kyrgios’ grip on the match slipped, Djokovic sneaked his fourth consecutive Wimbledon trophy out of his hands.

However, this was the first time the former world no.13 incurred a defeat against the Serbian tennis legend.
What is Kyrgios up to?
The 27-year-old signed for the ATP 250 event in Atlanta, to oil his hard court skills for the last Grand Slam of the year. He enrolled for both singles and doubles categories of the tournament. However, owing to an unfortunate knee injury on Tuesday, he was pushed to withdraw from the singles event.

Kyrgios was supposed to lock horns with the German tennis professional Peter Gojowczyk for a spot in the last 16. He would have met the former world no. 39 for the first time on the courts of Atlanta.
