In the thrilling world of sports, where champions are born and records are shattered, there’s one question that keeps fans talking: Who is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT)? This debate has been especially fierce in tennis, where Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic have been battling it out for the title of the greatest ever.

But as Nadal gets ready to retire and Federer has already left the tennis scene, a new chapter is unfolding, and it involves an unexpected contender in the GOAT race: the American football superstar, Tom Brady.

Greg Rusedski, a former tennis player from Britain who reached the US Open finals in 1997, created quite a buzz by stating that Novak Djokovic is not only the unquestioned Greatest of All Time (GOAT) in tennis but also in all of sports. Rusedski drew a comparison between Djokovic and NFL superstar Tom Brady, renowned for winning multiple Super Bowls.

“He wants to be known as the greatest of all time, not even have a debate about it. There’s only one athlete in sport I can think, especially in American sport – Tom Brady,” Rusedski declared, emphasizing Brady’s incredible Super Bowl victories as evidence of his greatness. “Ironically, Tom Brady was there [at the 2023 US Open] watching Novak Djokovic,” he added.

Right now I’d say he’s the GOAT, wanting 27, 28 majors and distancing himself from the pack. He’s tied Margaret Court with 24. Not only he wants to be the best male tennis player, he wants to be the best tennis player male, female, anything. An Olympic gold next year in Paris is huge for Novak,” Rusedski further remarked.

This GOAT debate in tennis has been going on for a very long time and now but it took a sharp turn after Rafael Nadal’s recent statements in an interview.

On the other side of this debate, Djokovic’s long-time rival, Rafael Nadal, has given his verdict. As Nadal prepares for his farewell season in 2024, he acknowledges that Djokovic’s achievements make him the best in tennis history.

“I believe that numbers are numbers and statistics are statistics. In that sense, I think he (Djokovic) has better numbers than mine and that is indisputable. This is the truth. The rest are tastes, inspiration, sensations that one or the other may transmit to you, that you may like one or the other more. I think that with respect to titles, Djokovic is the best in history and there is nothing to discuss about that,” Nadal conceded in an interview with AS.
