Tennis made its big debut on Netflix in 2022 with ‘Break Point.’ The buzz was real! Formula One had ‘Drive to Survive’ already, and now Netflix was turning its cameras to the tennis tour. After two seasons of low engagement, however, Break Point was cut. But, just days after that news surfaced, the streaming giant announced a fresh project: a docuseries centered around Carlos Alcaraz. The young Spaniard had only made a brief appearance in Break Point, but now he was getting his own spotlight. Fast forward a year, and the docuseries is all set to be released. Soon we’ll see a whole new side of Alcaraz. The poster is out already!

Cameras followed Alcaraz throughout his 2024 season, capturing every high and low. And what a season it was for the Spaniard. He won the French Open, conquered Wimbledon, and grabbed an Olympic silver medal. Now, the documentary is set to hit Netflix, bringing fans an inside look at the 21-year-old’s journey. Netflix teased the project in February with a first look, sharing stills of Alcaraz in action. One showed him celebrating his 21st birthday, another placing his Wimbledon trophy on a shelf, and another relaxing with friends on a boat. The title? ‘Carlos Alcaraz: A mi manera’—or in English, ‘Carlos Alcaraz: My Way’.

Now, Netflix has debuted the first poster of the docuseries on X and wrote, “He wants to be a champion. He also wants to enjoy being 21. Dive into the life, challenges, and choices beyond the court in ‘Carlos Alcaraz: My Way’. Premiering April 23.

The 21-year-old, however, revealed the date in his own unique way. A new tattoo debuted at Indian Wells, marking ‘23.4.25’ on his arm. The Spaniard already has tattoos for his biggest titles, with the U.S. Open date, an Eiffel Tower for the French Open, and a strawberry for Wimbledon. Now, Netflix joined the ink collection, but this one was temporary.

I am very happy for this experience with Morena Films and Netflix,” Alcaraz said when the project was first announced last March. “People are going to get to watch everything you don’t see on a tennis court. I think it’s something very different. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I will.”

Netflix has also been stepping into live tennis events. Alcaraz and Nadal faced off in ‘The Netflix Slam’ exhibition match last spring, another move in the platform’s growing sports portfolio.

Fun fact: Rafael Nadal will be the next subject of Netflix, with a docuseries covering his farewell season in 2024.

Is Carlos Alcaraz the next big thing in tennis, or just another fleeting sensation?

But hey, talking about 2024, Alcaraz’s 2024 season was one for the history books as well, where he became the youngest player in the Open era to win both the French Open and Wimbledon in the same season. The 2025 season, however, has been a mixed bag for the 21-year-old. Alcaraz is not dwelling on it, though, as he moves to the clay season.

Carlos Alcaraz spotted practicing in the red dirt

Carlos Alcaraz kicked off his 2025 season at the Australian Open but lost in the quarterfinals to Novak Djokovic. He picked up an ATP 500 title in Rotterdam, but has had a couple of setbacks ever since. Recently, he faced a shocking exit in Miami, falling to veteran David Goffin in his opener.

Heading into the clay season now, Carlitos has a golden opportunity. He missed both the Monte-Carlo Masters and Barcelona Open last year due to injury, meaning he has zero points to defend. Winning both would add 1,500 ranking points to his tally, potentially pushing him past Alexander Zverev to the No. 2 spot before Madrid and Rome.

With Roland Garros around the corner, Alcaraz is gearing up for the grind. He’s been training at familiar spots—first at Real Murcia Club de Tenis, where a small crowd watched him practice, and then at La Manga Club, a longtime training ground for Spain’s best players.

The road ahead won’t be easy, but if there’s one thing Alcaraz has proven time and again, it’s that he thrives on the challenge. Will this clay season put him back on top? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
