?My Mom?s Health Has Been Rocky?- Nick Kyrgios Opens Up About His Personal Problems Following Success at Wimbledon Championship 2022

Nick Kyrgios currently testing his skills on the grass courts of the 2022 Wimbledon championships. And as a tennis professional, he has to travel almost, throughout the year to take part in tournaments. But unlike every other overseas player, he can’t afford to take his biggest supporter, his mother with him.

Kyrgios’ mother suffers from an auto-immune disorder that forces her to stay at home while her son competes. Recently, after winning his spot in the semifinals, the Aussie spoke about his mother’s current conditions and how she has no other choice but to miss his matches.

While speaking to the press after his fabulous quarterfinals victory, Kyrgios stumbled upon the question of his mother’s health and her absence from his matches. To which he replied, “obviously my mom’s health has been a bit rocky. I mean, it’s been pretty bad for a while now. And obviously, she is not able to kinda come.”

“She is not allowed to travel that much. But even in the Australian open, she won’t come to my matches because she got like a pacemaker and stuff too stressful. So yeah, I try to talk to her. She will wake up in the morning and say, ‘oh I saw the scores. It looks like you had a tough match,’ and I’m just like you have no idea.”?He explained.

The 27-year-old took down the ATP Houston semifinalist Cristian Garin in straight sets of 6-4, 6-3, 7 (7)- 6 (5) to book a match against the 22 times Grand Slam champion?Rafael?Nadal. Nadal, on the other hand, got the better of Indian Wells reigning champion Taylor Fritz to make his way to the semifinals.

The former World No.13 is all set to square off with the Spanish legend in his first Grand Slam semifinals. They will lock horns in the centre court of Wimbledon on Friday, 8th July. The Aussie will?meet?the 2 times Wimbledon champion for the 10th time in this season’s grass-based Grand Slam.

Speaking of head-to-head records,?Kyrgios?trails behind by the score of 3-6. However, in the case of Wimbledon, he has had two clashes with Nadal. Out of which he came out victorious in one. They first tussled in the year 2014 for a spot in the quarterfinals. There, Kyrgios outclassed the 36-year-old in sets of 7-6 (5), 5-7, 6-3. Thereafter, they got pitted for a second-round match in 2019. And in that encounter, Nadal settled the score by claiming a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3) win.
