Casper Ruud, the 24-year-old Norwegian tennis player’s love for The Weeknd is not unknown. During the Wimbledon this year, Ruud was caught up several times attending the concert. Having a reputation as an ‘anti-grass’ player and attending concerts ahead of the prestigious tournament stirred up several criticisms. However, after several months, Ruud could not take it anymore.
Ruud was like- ‘Getting sober for a day got me feeling too low (Oh) They tryna make me slow down. Tryna tell me how to live, I’m about to lose control..’ Finally, he loses his control and breaks his silence by lashing out at the haters over that incident.

Ruud was seen having a strange preparation with hard court-hitting sessions, sunbathing on the back of a boat, golfing, and attending musical concerts just before Wimbledon. The world no.11 was first caught up in The Weeknd concert on June 23, just two weeks before the Wimbledon Championship, then after getting knocked out at the second round of the tournament to Liam Broady, the next day he was again seen among the crowds in the Weeknd concert. Many fans called him out for paying more attention to concerts over the sport. Now he hits back with a reply.
Ruud said, “If you criticize me for going to a The Weeknd concert, then you have a very boring life. It’s super good to go to concerts. You get the adrenaline but in a different way from watching videos to watching it live. I am very happy to have been able to see him three times this summer. And, I could have gone to see him three more times without a problem. People may question whether or not I took the weed tour seriously. It was 10 at night, we have a life outside of tennis.”
Casper Ruud looked completely different while expressing his emotions during the live show. Some fans were happy to see him dancing and singing while others decided to criticize it. Now his fans will want him to express himself similarly on the courts next season.
