Spaniard tennis legend Rafael Nadal shared his reasons for withdrawing from the Monte-Carlo Masters event. Nadal is expected to retire from his professional tennis career after this season permanently. While this year marks special for Nadal, it didn’t start well for him. This is because Nadal’s return with the Brisbane Open paused abruptly and he had to withdraw from multiple tournaments including the Australian Open tournament and Indian Wells Masters 1000 event this year.

While fans are counting their days to watch Nadal live once more, the Spaniard’s decision to not participate in major ATP tours has made his fans concerned. Now, his decision with Monte-Carlos Masters once again raised questions about his participation in the upcoming French Open tournament.

A reliable tennis source took their official Instagram account’s story to share Rafael Nadal’s response to an interviewer, who asked the Spaniard tennis maestro about his Monte Carlo Masters situation. In his response, Nadal said- “I keep on trying. It’s truth that the situation is complicated, but I go day by day and I don’t rule out anything. I don’t rule out being in Barcelona next week or in Madrid. I’ve not been able to be in MC, because of some issues I have.”  

Nadal further delved deeper into this. He mentioned how his problems are physical and not mental. This Spanish tennis legend said- “but what I have for the last 2 months, since I returned from AUS, is a problem in the abdominal.” Nadal shared that despite recovering fast from his Australian Open injury, he felt discomfort in his abs. Although he assured his fans about taking care of it, he stated that he is not recovering fully.

This Spanish tennis legend stated his withdrawal from the Monte Carlo Masters on his social media account. This left his fans disappointed once more. While Nadal has been trying to make a great comeback since Australian Open 2022, he hasn’t been physically fit to attend these tours after his foot injury.

Rafael Nadal shares the withdrawal from the Monte Carlo Masters as one of his “difficult moments”

While Nadal’s fans are eagerly waiting to see this legendary tennis player perform on the court again, Nadal’s physical shortcomings are not letting that happen. He also withdrew from the Monte Carlo Masters due to physical discomfort.

Nadal shared his decision on his social media and wrote– “These are very difficult moments for me, sporting wise, Unfortunately I have to tell you that I am not going to be playing in Monte Carlo. My body simply won’t allow me. And even if I am working hard and making the maximum effort every day with all the will to play and compete again at tournaments that have been very important for me, the truth is that I can’t play today. You have no idea how hard this is for me to not be able to play these events.”

Rafael Nadal’s revelation about not participating in the Monte Carlo Masters event brought serious anxiety to his fans. They are worried about Nadal’s form and curious to know if they can see this Spanish legend perform once before he permanently retires from the sport professionally.
