Talk about tennis records in men’s tennis and the Big 3 will be the first ones coming to your mind. The likes of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal have their stamp on most of the records. Djokovic, in particular, has ruled men’s tennis ever since Federer’s retirement and Nadal’s injury. Recently, he broke another record by surpassing his rivals.

Djokovic has already surpassed Federer as the oldest World No. 1 at 36 years and 321 days old. The Serb is currently plying his trade at the Monte Carlo Masters. Earlier today, he recorded a win over Lorenzo Musetti to enter the quarterfinals of the tournament. Following his victory, he achieved an insane feat surpassing his fellow legends.

The Serb is one of the most successful players in the Masters 1000 tournaments and the recent records show why. With his win over Musetti, Djokovic overtook Rafael Nadal to have the highest winning percentage of any player at ATP Masters 1000 events, since the format’s introduction in 1990.

After winning his pre-quarterfinal battle, Djokovic has won 82.2% of his matches at Masters 1000 tournaments. Nadal is a close second with a winning percentage of 82.1. The third place goes to Roger Federer, who almost won 78% of his Masters 1000 matches.

A surprising presence in the top 5 was Carlos Alcaraz, the young Spaniard, who had a 76.7 win percentage on the ATP 1000 level. He was followed by the American legend, Andre Agassi at 74.1%.

It is not a surprise that Djokovic leads the pack as far as Masters 1000 tournaments are concerned. He has also won the most titles on this stage, with 40 trophies to his name. He is followed by Rafael Nadal and Federer, who have won 36 and 28 Masters 1000 titles, respectively.

However, talking about the Monte Carlo Masters, Djokovic struggled against Nadal on this surface. He even admitted going down on his knees against his Spanish rival.

He said, “I remember this point more or less by heart. I’m still at the baseline still waiting for the right ball. I’m still waiting for the right ball. I come in now backhand down the line. I go on my knees and that was pretty much it.”

Although he gave his all in that match, Djokovic went on to lose the encounter against Nadal, which was the 2009 Monte Carlo Masters final. However, with Nadal absent this time around, Djokovic can breathe easy and put on a good show to win the title in Monaco.
