Today at the Monte Carlo Masters was an exciting day as the match schedule had Novak Djokovic‘s name in it. The Serb, who has been keeping himself out of the scene after his second-round exit at the Indian Wells, is finally back with a blast, locked in a showdown against the Italian tennis star Lorenzo Musetti.

Following the history of the heated connection between Italian fans and the Serb, the crowd started booing the world no.1, compelling him to react to it. Serving them what they asked for, the Serb was seen making gestures to tease them, a clear indication of beef with the disturbing crowd.

Along with the teasing gestures, the tennis legend also decided to give the answer with amazing moves, getting the first set in his name with the scoreboard showing 7-5. With this, he not only silenced the teasing crowd but also made the world remember that the GOAT is back in the game.

Right from the time when Djokovic started the clay court season, he appeared to have replaced the rage with patience. After his first victory in the tournament against Roman Safiullin, the tennis star came forward to express his thoughts about the increasing competitive levels ahead.

“It’s only one match, but the way I felt, I’m really pleased. It’s just the beginning of the tournament. It’s one match. I’m going to hope to work tomorrow to maintain that rhythm and focus, obviously try to perform as well as I did in the second match as I did today,” he said, keeping his mind and thoughts neutral for the ongoing clay court season.

Now that he continues to face Musetti, it still remains to be seen if the Italian will be able to cheer the crowd once again or will Djokovic succeed in keeping them muted.

Novak Djokovic stuns the booing crowd in Turin

This wasn’t the first time when the Italian crowd conducted the act of booing against Novak Djokovic. Back when the tennis legend stood in a showdown against the rising Italian Jannik Sinner for the title match, he not only secured a massive win against him but also shut the crowd that welcomed him with a negative response.

Despite several moments of experiencing immense stress that even made him crush a racket, Djokovic successfully managed to stun the crowd as he completed revenge against Sinner, who defeated the World No.1 back at their showdown in Wimbledon. As the Serb continues to tackle the Italian crowd, it still remains to be seen if they gather some respect for his new patient form or continue to be the same.
