Hours ago, Mouratoglou took to his official Instagram handle to share glimpses of him opening the clay season. He was pictured beside the likes of Novak Djokovic and Holger Rune, who began training on this surface ahead of a hectic season. Posing for a picture with them and the rest of his team, Mouratoglou wrote, “Clay season is officially opened!”

He was present in Monte Carlo as the first Masters 1000 tournament on clay begins here next week. While Rune will look to shrug off his Sunshine Double disappointment, Novak Djokovic will be making a comeback after missing the Miami Open.

Rune and Mouratoglou joined hands earlier this year after the former broke off with Boris Becker and Severin Luthi. However, their partnership hasn’t got off to a good start as Rune struggled in Indian Wells and Miami. While he bowed out of the Indian Wells Masters in the quarterfinal, his stint in Miami ended in the second round. Nonetheless, Mouratoglou is excited to work with him and is confident of Rune’s success.
