The arena in Monte Carlo starts witnessing a completely different vibe of cheers and excitement whenever the young champ Jannik Sinner enters the arena. While the fans have been very passionate about rooting for him in every match on his for the title, they followed the same routine in his present showdown against Holger Rune. However, Rune is “NOT HAPPY”.

As soon as the quarter-final match began, Sinner appeared to be dominating the court and easily managed to take the first set with the scoreboard depicting 6-4. Things started to get more intense as the fans’ favorite continued to hit game after game and the crowd gained more momentum, ending up screaming at the top of their lungs.

Rune, who was already suppressed with Sinner holding the lead, took the cheers seriously and stepped out of the court asking the chair umpire to shut them down so that he could continue the match. While he also indulged in a beef with the crowd by making gestures with his hand, he ended up receiving a warning for “time and his unsportsmanlike conduct”.

Following that, the young Dan took a seat and decided to wait for the supervisor to show up, in order to get a voice for his concerns. “Call the supervisor. You can’t give me a warning for this. I didn’t say a bad word. I went like this to tell them to be quiet (hand gesture),” he said to the chair umpire.

Although Rune managed to regather his concentration and took the second set in his name, he still had to face a defeat with the final scoreline of 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. However, the incident was just another version of what happened with Djokovic lately.

Novak Djokovic “beefing with Italian crowd”

It isn’t just Holger Rune who had to face the wrath of the excited Italian fans. Back when Novak Djokovic played his first clay court match of the season against the Italian tennis star Lorenzo Musetti, the crowd didn’t hesitate to treat him with loud booing.

While it was the Serb who initiated the beef by making gestures facing toward the stands, the crowd also gathered their voices to present him with a similar response. However, unlike Rune, the Serb handled the situation by keeping a smile on his face and therefore gave the answer with his racket.
