The 2015 Australian Open quarter-finalist started his 2022 season at the Australian Open. He won his first-round match against UK’s Liam Broady and put on an amazing show for the audience. His straight sets victory included a tweener, an underarm serve, and a sip of beer from the crowd to celebrate the win.
However, Kyrgios lost the second-round match to top-seed Daniil Medvedev in four sets. He is, however, still competing in the men’s doubles where he is partnering with Thanasi Kokkinakis. The duo have entered the third round, where they will play Ariel Behar and Gonzalo Escobar. Interestingly, the Aussie pair have already eliminated the Croatian top-seed pairing of Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic.
