The Miami Open, one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year, got off to a flying start. However, as it seems, things have slowly and steadily started to turn against the organizers of this huge event. Just a day before, the matches had to be suspended after rain spoiled the day after multiple delays.
However, on the next day, the players came out and hoped to compete in their match and lay their hands on winning. But the extreme weather conditions made it difficult for them to cope with the weather. Stefanos Tsitsipas, who played against Denis Shapovalov, had to suffer an unexpected defeat at the event. In a match that ended in a 6-2, 6-4 defeat for the Greek sensation, he was seen struggling with the conditions.
I don't want to to act as a defender Stef and make excuses, but I don't understand all the criticism he got after this match. It was obvious that Stef was feeling very unwell and was in no condition to play a difficult match.

The extremely humid conditions made it extremely difficult for him to continue his match. However, he was not alone. British star Jack Draper, who faced Nicolas Jarry in the round of 64 also fell prey to the extreme conditions and quite clearly struggled to play. This eventually reflected in the scoreline as well as he was pushed out of the event by Jarry in a three-set thriller.

In a tough match, it was Casper Ruud who came out on top in a 3-set thriller against Luca Van Assche. However, the weather conditions got the worst out of him. In a video shared on social media, the Norwegian star was seen struggling and asking for water from the chair umpire amidst the tough conditions.
Casper not happy with the tournament service. I always get the feeling that Stef is not feeling well in Miami either; the heat, wind and high humidity are bothering him and the players are obviously not being treated adequately either. pic.twitter.com/TwK4v5o1Ka

He suggested that the ball became big in the first round which made it difficult for him to think about how to score points against his opponents.
Sorry but humid conditions are just nasty. It felt like they were playing in thick mud the whole time. Not easy pic.twitter.com/7DpKkdl01e
