The Daniil Medvedev led Russian Tennis Federation has made their way to the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup 2021. RTF cruised past the defending champion, Team Spain to book their important spot. However, in the post-match interview, Medvedev talked about the messages he had received from a bunch of people in Serbia.
In addition, the world No. 2 believes they will eliminate any team coming their way, whether it’s Spain or Serbia. They want to win the competition.

Daniil Medvedev jokes with Novak Djokovic
Daniil Medvedev is taking sublime charge of the Russian Tennis Federation at Davis Cup 2021. On Sunday, RTF secured their place in the quarter-finals of the competition. However, in the post-match conference, Daniil Medvedev looked very calm as he jokingly remembers one thing.
When asked to comment on Novak Djokovic owing him a restaurant, he quoted, ” I think we’re not going to do it during the tournament. But maybe one day we’ll see.”

Moreover, the Russian received messages from Serbia. ” It’s funny, because during the match, we were getting messages from some people in Serbia, let’s call it that, because I won’t say who, and not just me, but a lot of us saying, go ahead, guys, we believe in you,” said Medvedev.
“We just wanted to win the game, and we are really happy that we did, ” he said.
Daniil Medvedev looks confident as he made some strong statements ahead of their quarter-finals clash in Madrid, Spain.

RTF to face Team Sweden
Russian Tennis Federation will be facing Team Sweden in the much-awaited quarter-finals contest in Madrid, Spain. Medvedev’s team has approached every match with optimism.
On the other side, Team Serbia led by Novak Djokovic will lock horns against Kazakhstan in Spain. The current World No.1 and No.2 are much likely to face each other yet another time this year. In their head-to-head statistics, Djokovic leads by 2-1.
