However, as per the director of the Canadian Masters 1000, Eugene Lapierre, the Spaniard, now seems to have recovered fully and is ready to make a comeback.

Lapierre, while addressing the media, spoke about the 22 times Grand slam champion’s presence in the upcoming event. He said, “Everything indicates that Nadal will play the tournament. He has made hotel reservations and has asked us to send him a box of the balls that we will use for the tournament.”

Thereafter, he added, “He should return to training this Monday in order to arrive in the best possible way to this American tour.” Further, Nadal has also started practicing for the coming hard court based tournament. In fact, earlier, he was spotted in courts of Mallorca.
Last year, the former World no.1 lost his chance to defend his title in the Canadian Master. Because of his recurring foot injury, Nadal had to leave the ATP 1000 event in the first round only.

The Spanish legend has performed brilliantly since the start of this season. After skipping last year’s US Open, he made a strong comeback in Australia. Also, breaking the three-way tie of Grand Slam victories between him, Djokovic and Federer.
Thereafter, he claimed his 14th clay majors’ title by thrashing the Norwegian young blood in the finals of the French Open. Thus covering half his journey to a Calender Grand Slam. However, his withdrawal from the semifinals not only ruined the chance for him to add a golden record to his career. But also deprived the 36-year-old of proving his prowess in the fastest surface after over a decade.
