Frances Tiafoe may be a tennis superstar but his love for basketball is equally well-known. The 26-year-old American sensation is a big fan of Kevin Durant. He is often seen donning the jerseys of NBA teams during his practice sessions and attending NBA games. Once, Tiafoe was even seen getting featured in the NBA All-Stars Celebrity Game in Saltlake City.

Recently the tennis player was spotted attending a match of the Maryland Women’s Basketball Team at the Xfinity Center. Tiafoe has spent a part of his childhood in Maryland, and this was his second visit in a week.

Frances Tiafoe and his brother are the sons of Sierra Leone immigrants and have spent quite a bit of their childhood in Maryland, and the memories have stayed. A few days ago he got covered by the Maryland Women’s Basketball team when they announced his presence in the house. They wrote, “Shoutout to Frances Tiafoe for coming thru and showing support last night.” Recently, he was yet again caught up by the fans while he was attending a match between the Maryland Women’s Basketball team and the IOWA.

Their father had landed a job as a caretaker at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park after working in its construction. Due to this connection and his childhood in Hyattsville Maryland, several fans of the University of Maryland Terrapins are also big fans of Tiafoe. He is often covered by University of Maryland media and fan sites.

Talking about the changes he wants to see in tennis, Tiafoe added, “I think fans should be able to come and go and move around and speak during matches. Imagine going to a basketball game and not saying anything.” He believes traditional events like Wimbledon must retain its tradition.
