‘Makes Me So Annoyed’- When John McEnroe’s Ex-Wife Tatum O’Neal Made Her Feelings Clear About Popular Actress Anne Hathaway

John McEnroe had a tumultuous marriage with his ex-wife, Tatum O’Neal. The actress had separated from the player after they decided they could not be together happily. O’Neal had expressed her dislike for the American actress, Anne Hathaway, in an old interview after she vouched for British actress, Kate Winslet instead of her.

O’Neal and John McEnroe had three children together and then in 1992, they decided to get separated. Eventually, they got divorced in 1994 after being apart for two years.

The American actress expressed her dislike for Anne Hathaway in an old interview. O’Neal had won an Oscar at the young age of 10 for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for the movie, ‘Paper Moon’. John McEnroe’s ex-wife once re-tweeted that watching Hathaway made her want “to burn a police car.” When asked about she said, “I saw her on TV the night before last and she did a rap about the paparazzi.”

O’Neal commented on her temper and said, “She just loses her cool. Every time you think she’s demure and cool, she becomes the Glee kid.” Furthermore, she added, “I shouldn’t say that. She’s probably got a trillion fans.”

O’Neal also commented her role on in the newly released movie, ‘One Day’. John McEnroe’s ex-wife said, “Isn’t she in that new film, One Day? I mean, why not get an English actress for that?” She did not hide away her discontent and vouched for Kate Winslet. She said, “It makes me so annoyed. It makes no sense to me. Now, Kate Winslet, we all love. There’s an actress.”

The couple got together in 1984 and married after two years. They had three children together, Kevin, Sean, and Emily. However, the couple could not find a way around a peaceful marriage and eventually got divorced in 1994. There was a huge custody battle between the couple as the kids stayed with McEnroe.

His ex-wife had accused him of assaulting her because of his anger issues. On the other hand, the seven-time grand slam champion stated in his book that his divorce had shattered him and had affected his on-court performance too.
