Tennis fans all over the world were in for a treat when Roger Federer began his 2021 Wimbledon Championship campaign. On day 4 of the tournament, people couldn’t contain their excitement after watching the legend grace the Centre Court. A worthwhile performance from the Swiss ‘G.O.A.T’ thoroughly entertained the crowd, who cheered him on with every swing.
Following his absence from the sport last year due to an injury, the 39-year-old was truly missed and fans loved having him back. Reciprocating their love, Federer shared his appreciation on Twitter in a post that best explained why he loves tennis so much.

“Makes it all worth it”- Roger Federer
The first round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championship saw Roger battle it out with French international Adrian Manarrino, who to say the least, showed no signs of backing down. Both the giants were going head to head, taking the match to a fifth and final set. However, a mid-game injury forced Manarrino to retire, handing the win to Roger. Progressing into the next round, Roger’s form looked unquestionable and, and it seemed to further charge up already excited fans.
Coming on the back of a magnificent display, an entertaining outing was now promised. Roger once again dominated his counterpart, Richard Gasquet, winning the game in straight sets. The crowd loved every minute of the game, leaving Federer overwhelmed and high on confidence.

The historical tournament that was canceled last year due to the pandemic has made a worthy comeback this year. Having to play games in unimaginable conditions, players all around the world have suffered ‘behind closed doors.’
All hyped and pumped, the in-form Roger Federer goes to the turf once again tomorrow. He takes on Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the third round of the tournament. With their local lad battling it out against an all-time great, it will be interesting to see who the fans back the most. Regardless, a thrilling game awaits.
