Carlos Alcaraz is back in the headlines! After missing out on the chance to compete at the Monte Carlo Masters and the Barcelona Open due to a right arm injury, Carlos Alcaraz is all set to hit the courts at the Madrid Open. But before kick-starting his campaign in Madrid, the 20-year-old Spaniard recently gave an interview to Marca, shedding light on whether he has spoken to Rafael Nadal about the possibility of him teaming up with the Spanish legend for a doubles match at the Paris Olympics.
Alcaraz was recently spotted practicing alongside Nadal in Madrid. Fans were thrilled to witness these two legends together from such a close distance. They will be more excited if both Alcaraz and Nadal team up to represent their nation in the Olympics, which will be held from 26 July in Paris. But Alcaraz told Marca, “We have not talked about it. I have met him these days, in the last tournaments. And the truth is that I have not dared to tell him.“

He further went on to add, “I don’t know, it’s something that would make me very excited. It would be a dream and that’s why it forces me. Having to tell him imposes on me. I know that he is excited to play with me. I have already said a thousand times that it would be a great thing to play doubles with him in my first Olympics.” Playing at one of the biggest stages of the sporting world with the ‘King of Clay‘ on clay itself is a dream come true moment for all tennis players.
But how fit is Carlos Alcaraz to kick-start his campaign at the clay court season? Before stepping onto the court at the Madrid Open, he said that with his current level of fitness, he would be satisfied if he somehow got through three or four matches. Fans now hope both tennis stars will get fully fit ahead of the two big clay-court events that are lining up this year. But what would Carlos Alcaraz prefer- an Olympic gold or a French Open title?
