LTA Breathes Life Into English Tennis Days Ahead of Wimbledon With a Massive $75,000 Renovating Initiative

With the highly anticipated?Wimbledon?Championships?just around the corner,?tennis enthusiasts in East Lancashire have reason to celebrate.?The Lawn Tennis Association?(LTA), in collaboration with?the government and Burnley Council,?has unveiled an ambitious plan to renovate?11 tennis courts?across four parks in the region. An investment of $75,000 has been allocated to breathe new life into these facilities.

The chosen parks for this ambitious project include Scott Park, Ightenhill Park, Queen’s Park in Burnley, and Memorial Park in Padiham.?Following?extensive?renovation?work,?which?included?resurfacing, repainting, and line marking,?as well as the installation of new nets, posts, and gate access systems, the courts have been officially reopened and are ready to host tennis enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.

Renovation efforts enhance Tennis facilities across England’s parks

Beyond the visual enhancements, the rejuvenated courts offer practical benefits to players. The LTA has implemented a user-friendly online reservation system, allowing individuals to secure their court time conveniently. With new gate access systems and cutting-edge technology, the process of booking a court in advance has been streamlined, ensuring smoother and more efficient operations.

Tennis enthusiasts now have two options for accessing the courts: a pay-as-you-play model, with an hourly rate of ?3, or an annual season ticket priced at ?35, which covers up to five members of a household, according to Lancashire Telegraph.

In addition to catering to individual players,?the renovated courts?have been designed to support community engagement.
