Imagine a father-son duo where the father knows more about sculpting than serving shots! Whereas his son aspires to shape his finest work with a racquet in hand. Welcome to the world of Lorenzo Musetti, whose father, Francesco’s unwavering support, paved the way for the semifinalist of Wimbledon to shine and play tennis since the age of 4!
Unlike tennis, excelling at parenting doesn’t take training and Francesco has proved it throughout his life. Therefore, when a young Musetti showed promise in the sport, he decided to get some professional help and hone his skills even more. While Simone Tartarini took up the role of Musetti’s coach, like a happy father, Francesco kept on building his son’s focus and intrigue in tennis. He might be a marble producer in Tucson in his professional regime, but at home he was the father of a tennis enthusiast, providing him with every facility he needed and helping him to stay disciplined.
Musetti grew up with that support and with a mentality to work diligently. Till now the 22-year-old player refers to being hardworking as his “best quality.” Apart from his father, Musetti’s mother, Sabrina also has no association with tennis. However, the secretary of a local company in his hometown, Sabrina, has been there for her son throughout his journey. Sometimes it also includes watching her son play on the tennis court in several tournaments as well.

While in real life, his hero might be his grandfather, but in tennis, Musetti tries to imitate his lifelong idol, Roger Federer. With all the support from his family and coach (Tartarini) whom he considers his “second father,” the Italian player has two singles titles already in his bucket. As he finished his quarterfinal match at Wimbledon this season, Musetti paid his tribute to his family for their never-ending love and motivation.

“I have been dreaming about this moment since… (sorry)…. I was a kid, I always had a family, really beautiful family, who always supported me in chasing my dream…” Musetti, who turned pro in 2019 and is soon going to face Novak Djokovic in the semifinals, knows how to make his parents proud. After all, he is a father himself, wanting his child to also follow in his footsteps!
Musetti speaks on teaching tennis to his son!
Lorenzo, known for his one-handed backhand approach in tennis, is all ready to accept the challenge of Djokovic in the semis. While his goal to win a title at Wimbledon remains firm, at the same time, he also remembers his aim for the year. It is to be a better father himself! And his recent comments on helping his son, Ludovic, play tennis hint at Musetti doing that job responsibly as well!

“I don’t even know if he’s gonna play. But, of course, I’ll do whatever he prefers. I won’t be that dad who forces him to play the same as the way of father. Of course, I’d love that he could try the one-handed. Because I know in the modern era it’s really tough.”
Celebrating his quarterfinal victory with his son and girlfriend at home, Lorenzo Musetti is having the time of his life in tennis! But there is a bigger obstacle in his way at Wimbledon in the form of Djoker who holds a 5-1 against the Italian player. Nevertheless, as long as Lorenzo has the support of his family, no one can stop him from putting his best game forward!
