The excitement levels at the upcoming Laver Cup are expected to go higher than ever. John McEnroe, who has been leading the Team World for a long time, is ready to go off and will be handing over the charge to the American legend Andre Agassi. However, before bidding a final goodbye, the former pro decided to share some learning with the new captain. And that

Recently, Laver Cup’s official Instagram channel shared a post in which Team World’s newly appointed captain Andre Agassi can be seen reading a letter from the former mentor. The letter explored several aspects of the role, taking a cheeky side to explain the intricacies of the American legend. However, the speech also became hilarious at times as McEnroe decided to embed some lashing yet funny statements.

“Dear Andre, I want to be the first to congratulate you on taking my job”, John jokingly started the letter. Keeping his own autobiography over to that of Andre Agassi, the 65-year-old said, “You should know that I’ve already laid groundwork of your arrival. I gave the team copies of your autobiography “Open” that i found. Unfortunately, they couldn’t stop reading John McEnroe’s “You Cannot be Serious” available at fine retailers everywhere.”

This response from the former coach of Team World not only invited fans to drop countless laughing emojis in the comment section but also made Roger Federer enter the chat with the same. Federer took to his Instagram story and reposted the video along with two laughing emojis. However, this wasn’t the only reason why the Swiss tennis maestro could stop himself from bursting into laughter.

Along with the biography thing, McEnroe also brought a mysterious picture into light. In the black and white retro photo, Agassi can be seen posing alongside Bjorn Borg, the rival team’s captain. To which he said, “I’ve seen the picture of you sucking up to Team Europe Captain Bjorn Borg. Now i know you were only eight at that time, I just don’t want to see a repeat of that, okay?”

“I look forward to seeing you in Berlin, to show you the ropes, and from San Francisco buddy, it’s all yours. May the balls and calls land in your favor,” McEnroe said, in an attempt to send best wishes to the new captain.
