‘Last Thing I Wanted Was to Get Remarried’- John McEnroe Said He Just Wanted to Go Out With Young Girls Right After He Got Divorced

The former tennis player, John McEnroe adorned the tennis court with some of the most legendary performances during his journey. As he won 7 Grand Slam singles titles, the American tennis legend enjoyed tremendous success during his time on the court. However, off the court, McEnroe has struggled with his past romantic relationship with Tatum O’Neal.

Notably, the former world No. 1 tennis player previously revealed how he was massively affected by the feeling of his failed marriage. McEnroe stated that he didn’t want to remarry, and all he wanted was to go out with young girls after his divorce.

John McEnroe made a surprising revelation during a podcast

The 7- time singles Grand Slam champion was previously featured in a podcast with his wife, Patty Smyth. The couple talked about their romantic relationship and their children during the podcast. Meanwhile, John McEnroe also spoke about his journey after getting divorced from the American actress, Tatum O’Neal.

The American tennis legend revealed that he found it difficult to figure out what was going on after his failed marriage. McEnroe further stated that he was affected by the feeling of a failed marriage. Additionally, ‘McBrat’ was also concerned about his children after getting divorced as they were very young then.

He further stated, “So I actually watch a lot of change. So that was exactly why the last thing that I wanted was to get remarried.”

McEnroe went on to say, “You know, the toughest thing about marriage is getting the divorce is getting out of it. What took me a couple of years and it’s just sort of horrific in a way. Then then it feels like Okay, I just want to go out with young girls and don’t want anything, basically.”

McEnroe and his wife also talked about their first meeting during the podcast

During the podcast, McEnroe’s wife also opened up about their first meeting. She revealed that they first met at their friend’s Christmas party on Christmas Day.

The 7- time singles Grand Slam champion’s wife went on to say that her meeting with McEnroe was a setup. Smyth went on to say that McEnroe walked into the room while holding his kids in each arm. She also stated that it was “funny” when she saw McEnroe walking in the room like that.
